Goatlets and Jojo

Jolene and Max

This weekend we made the trip back up to Ukiah Just to see the baby goats. I call them the "goatlets" Not sure why, but it makes me laugh. I took some new pictures of the little goatlets. I had to force myself to stop as I took way too many pictures. It was hard to tell myself No since they were so darn cute.

We also decided to take a trip up to the snow. This time I called Jolene to see if she could go. At first she said she had too many chores to do. But thanks to the encouragement of her hubby Mike, she was able to shirk her duties and take her son Max up to play in the snow. We didn't make it all that far, and we didn't play too much, I am not sure where the time went, but we had fun all the same. Max got to play in the snow, and we adults got to catch up and BS. I took a few pictures and some video. I will have to make some quick edts and post a new clip in a few days. Maybe I can do it on Presidents day. Heather has to work, so I will be home and "board to death"

Congratulations Mary Ann

Mary Anns baby goats

On Friday night 2/1/08, my mom got a call from my Aunt Sharol (in Oklahoma) saying she had stomach pains and asked my mom if she had checked on Mary Ann the pregnant pygmy goat. My mom confirmed that she did not long before when they went to feed them. My aunt told her that she needed to go check again because she said Mary Ann was giving birth. My mom thought my aunt had flipped her lid, but went to go check it out anyway. Sure enough, when my mom and dad went to check up on her, she had already given birth and was trying to clean the fluid from 4 babies. Holy Smokes! How did my aunt know? She is 1200 miles away!

Unfortunately only 3 survived as one baby was found dead when my parents entered the barn. :( poor little baby pygmy goat… What's amazing, is that goats are only supposed to have two kids, not 4… To have three out of four is even more amazing.

Maybe Mom or aunt Sharol can tell us a bit more of the story by leaving a return comment :)

Here are the pictures that were sent to me last night. They are pretty cute little guys.

Happy Henna Days!

Posted By: Mark No Comments December 21, 2007

Our dog at our christmas cards, so we thought we would send everyone a digital Christmas card this year. She can't eat that, although she did try to eat my laptop so we had best be careful. ;)

Below is an Adobe PFD that you can print from your home computer (how cool is that!) Think of it as a Do it Yourself Project the whole family can enjoy!

Here is the step by step how to tutorial on printing the Happy Henna Days card.

STEP 1. Download card below.

STEP 2. Open the downloaded file. Most likely in Adobe Acrobat (free if you don't have it already)

STEP 3. Print the cute picture of Henna chewing up your christmas card.

STEP 4. Trim freshly printed holiday card and enjoy with the whole family!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Dog Park

Posted By: Heather No Comments November 12, 2007

Yesterday it rained. Because of our landscape drainage problem, this translates to a swampy backyard and a muddy puppy – not a great combination if you are trying to keep a clean house.

As you can imagine, even though we need the rain -today's sunshine was very welcome. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the wind was crisp. It was perfect weather to get out of the house and go for a long walk. Mark and I decided to hop in the car and drive to the wetlands. We've never been there, nor did we know how exactly to get there. We thought we'd just wing it. So we loaded up Henna and went for a drive. After getting a little lost on the back-roads, we needed to fill up the gas guzzler. We ended up over in the Land Park area. We knew that there was a dog park in the area because Shasta and Jona used to live right around there. Henna must have sensed that we were near the dog park because she started to go crazy.

The dog park is my new favorite place. Henna was having such a blast. She ran from one end of the park to the other. She made friends with every dog she met, except for a very grouchy Chihuahua who just barked the entire time. We will have to become regulars at the dog park. Right now Henna is the most calm I have ever seen her. She had a good workout today.

Heather & marks request-o-plenty

I know, I know – It's not even Thanksgiving yet, and here we are jumping on the Christmas bandwagon. Well, the 4th quarter predictions are out and it's looking bad for major retailers. In our effort to "boost the economy", we have re-activated our Christmas Request-o-plenty page. It's our duty as Americans to lift the country out of a pending recession and shop 'til we drop. :P

Please do your part and submit your Christmas wish list. It makes the whole gift buying experience much more pleasurable.
